Programme Note

Flautist Anna Kondrashina and pianist Pavel Timofeyevsky invite you to trace with them the evolution of “sonata form”, the most prevalent compositional device in western classical music, through the works of two of it’s finest innovators. The “dialogue” between Beethoven’s early masterpiece, string trio op 9 in G, arranged by the performers for flute and piano (London premiere) and an arrangement of Debussy’s last work, the Sonata in G for violin and piano. The concert will also feature other arrangements created by the duo that will appear on their upcoming debut album “Rewired Music”.
